Refund and cancellation policy
How checkout cancellations, unused credits, duplicate payments, failed delivery and statutory cooling-off rights are handled.

Test and live transactions
A checkout clearly identified as PayFast Sandbox uses test funds: no real money is collected and test credits have no cash value. A live PayFast checkout processes a real payment and is covered by the cancellation and refund terms below.
Before completing a live payment
The billing and PayFast checkout pages allow the customer to review the plan or top-up, total price and payment details before the final payment action. Leaving checkout before payment confirmation adds no credits and creates no charge by SayScope.
Cooling-off and cancellation
Where ECTA or another applicable law grants a cooling-off right, the customer may exercise it within the statutory period. For an electronic service this is generally seven days from concluding the agreement, subject to lawful exceptions. This policy does not remove any mandatory right.
Send the order reference, account email and request to accounts@sayscope.co.za. Do not send card numbers, banking passwords or one-time PINs.
A subscription may be cancelled from billing. Cancellation stops future PayFast renewals; already-confirmed monthly credits remain usable through the paid-through cycle and any unused monthly credits then expire. A higher-plan upgrade starts a new cycle after its full payment is confirmed, replacing the previous cycle's unused monthly credits. A lower-plan change takes effect after the next successful renewal without mid-cycle proration. This does not limit a statutory refund right.
When we will refund
- a duplicate or incorrect charge;
- payment was confirmed but the purchased credits were not delivered and cannot be restored within a reasonable period;
- an applicable statutory cancellation or consumer remedy requires a refund;
- another case the supplier approves after a fair review.
For an approved full refund or confirmed chargeback, unused credits from that payment are removed. Credits already consumed are recorded as a supplier loss or reviewed under applicable law; unrelated top-up or plan credits are not taken and the account balance is never reduced below zero. Partial refunds are reviewed against the affected payment and its credit use. These accounting rules do not limit a lawful remedy.
Timing and payment method
Approved refunds will be initiated through PayFast or another lawful method as soon as reasonably possible and within any legally required period. Banks and payment methods may take additional business days to reflect the funds. A refund confirmation and the related credit-ledger adjustment should remain available as a transaction record.
Disputes and chargebacks
Contact the accounts team before initiating a chargeback so duplicate credits or delivery problems can be investigated. This request does not prevent a customer from using lawful dispute rights. Approved refunds, payment reversals and related credit adjustments are recorded and reconciled against the relevant order.
